Welcome to Stella’s Doggie Retreat, a private retreat, not a boarding facility, for Portland’s most cherished dogs. Tucked into the heart of Northwest Portland, your pup won’t just be watched over, they’ll be hosted: unhurried sunset strolls along the Willamette waterfront, quiet morning wanders through Forest Park, and the kind of individual attention that only comes from caring for a handful of dogs at a time, never dozens.
There’s no kennel run here, no cage, no rotating staff. Just one experienced caretaker who treats your dog the way she’d want her own treated. Space is intentionally limited, because every dog in my care deserves my full presence, not a fraction of it.
This is where tails wag, paws roam, and hearts feel completely at home. 🐾 🐾

- Door-to-door pickup and drop-off: No drop-off lines, no waiting rooms. I meet you wherever is easiest, including hotel lobbies for traveling guests.
- 2–3 tailored walks daily: Paced to your dog’s age, energy, and personality, along Portland’s best-loved trails and waterfront paths.
- Thoughtful mealtimes: Kept exactly on your dog’s routine and diet, down to the medication schedule if needed.
- Real-time updates: Photos and messages throughout the day, so you always know your pup is happy, safe, and having the time of their life.
- A true home environment: Your dog rests, plays, and sleeps in a real home, never a facility, surrounded by the same calm attention I once gave the private residences of The Plaza Hotel in New York.

The heart behind Stella’s Doggie Retreat! With over 20 years of experience caring for dogs, Stella spent 15 years owning and running a premier dog walking and boarding company in NYC. As the sole pet care provider for the iconic Plaza Hotel Private Residence, she’s worked with dogs of all breeds, sizes, and temperaments—always with patience, expertise, and a deep love for our four-legged family members. After selling her company and moving out to the Northwest, she set out to create a one-of-a-kind retreat where every pup gets the VIP treatment, plenty of play, and, most importantly, lots of LOVE!
